Taeyeon Describes Meaning Of Tattoo + Names Girls' Generation's Most Difficult Song

Girls’ Generation’s Taeyeon appeared on the September 6 episode of “Begin Again 3,” a show in which musicians perform live overseas as buskers.

On their second day in Berlin, Taeyeon stretched as soon as she got up. She said to Paul Kim and Kim Hyun Woo at the dining table, “My legs hurt so much” and talked about her exhaustion from their busking. She said, “My knee hurts. I danced in high heels a lot for 10 years so it seems like it strained my knee.”

Kim Hyun Woo mentioned Girls’ Generation’s song “Catch Me If You Can,” which is known as their most difficult in terms of choreography. “It’s so cool so I’ve searched for it a lot,” he said. “But it seems like you don’t do it much.”

Taeyeon explained, “That song’s choreography is really hard. We avoid it too because it’s so difficult. If I sing that song, I taste blood. Sometimes you taste blood when you exercise really hard. People really like that song but it’s the hardest.”

Later on while the group was traveling in the car together, Lee Juck pointed out the tattoo on the back of Taeyeon’s neck and asked what it means.

“It says ‘Purpose,'” she explained. “It means a goal. It’s because I don’t want to live a meaningless life.” Taeyeon also has several other tattoos.
