TWICE Guards No. 1 Spot With

TWICE’s “FANCY” holds on to the top spot for the third week in a row! This song remains a model of consistency even though it has been released for more than two months: it has been in the top two for the last eight weeks. Congratulations again to TWICE!

BTS’s “Boy With Luv” is making another run at the top spot after spending four weeks there last month! This song moved back up another spot to No. 2 and its score is not far behind “FANCY.” “Boy With Luv” also keeps collecting music show wins. Last week it won on “Music Bank” and “Music Core.” In fact, it has been on top of the “Music Core” chart since the April 20 show (note: May 4 has no show), a span of nine straight weeks at No. 1. This is a record that will not be broken for a long time.

Rounding out the top three is Lee Hi’s “NO ONE,” dropping one spot to No. 3.

We have three new songs in the top 10 this week. Moving up 12 spots to No. 6 is Kim Na Young’s “To be honest.” Her first top 10 hit in more than three years, “To be honest” is a sad ballad with an acoustic guitar sound with lyrics that are about a woman who doesn’t have the confidence to let go of her love. Kim Na Young’s emotional vocals add to the sorrowful feelings of the song. “To be honest” won on “Inkigayo” last week, making it Kim Na Young’s first-ever music show win.

Former I.O.I member Jeon Somi has made her solo debut. Her song “BIRTHDAY” moved up 13 spots to No. 8 this week. Jeon Somi took part in writing and penning this song. It is a hip hop style dance track with witty lyrics about a young girl celebrating her birthday in a refreshing way.

Moving up 14 spots to No. 9 is Urban Zakapa’s latest hit “Seoul Night.” This song is released to commemorate Urban Zakapa’s 10 years in the music industry. “Seoul Night” is an R&B song describing a variety of different nights in the city of Seoul which can be special and beautiful, or can be cold and complicated. The lyrics aim to capture these moments so that listeners can relate their “Seoul Nights” to this song. Beenzino is the featured rapper and adds a special story of “Seoul Night” with his sophisticated rapping.
